Cookie Policy

Last Updated: 10 February 2026

This page explains how the Solwen website uses cookies, what each type does, and how you can manage your preferences. We have tried to keep this as clear and straightforward as possible.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember information — such as whether you have already seen a particular notice — so that your next visit works a little more smoothly. Cookies do not give us access to your device or personal files beyond what is described here.

Why Websites Use Cookies

Websites use cookies for a range of purposes: keeping certain features working, understanding how visitors move through the site, and in some cases serving relevant advertising. Not all of these apply to the Solwen website — we explain exactly which types we use below.

Types of Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies (Always active)

These are necessary for the website to work. They manage session state, remember your cookie preference, and ensure basic navigation functions correctly. They cannot be switched off.

Duration: Session or up to 1 year  |  Third party: No

Analytics Cookies

These help us understand how visitors use the website — which pages are visited, how long people stay, and where they arrive from. This information is collected in aggregate and anonymised form. We use Google Analytics for this purpose.

Duration: Up to 26 months  |  Third party: Google Analytics

Marketing Cookies

These track your browsing activity across sites and may be used to show you relevant advertising. Solwen may use these in connection with search advertising campaigns. If you decline, you may still see general ads — just not ones tailored to your browsing history.

Duration: Up to 90 days  |  Third party: Google Ads, Meta

Preference Cookies

These remember choices you have made on the site — such as language or display settings — so that you do not need to re-enter them on subsequent visits.

Duration: Up to 1 year  |  Third party: No

Your Cookie Preferences

Use the toggles above to set your preferences, then save them below. Your choices will be stored in your browser. Essential cookies are always active and cannot be disabled.

Your preferences have been saved.

Third-Party Cookies

When analytics or marketing cookies are enabled, the following third-party services may set their own cookies:

  • Google Analytics — anonymised usage statistics
  • Google Ads — advertising measurement (if marketing cookies accepted)
  • Meta (Facebook) — advertising tracking (if marketing cookies accepted)

These services operate under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review separately.

Cookie Duration

There are two types of cookie by duration. Session cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or you delete them manually. The durations for each category are listed alongside the toggle controls above.

Managing Cookies in Your Browser

You can also control cookies directly through your browser settings. Click any browser below for instructions.

Go to Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. From here you can block all cookies, allow only first-party cookies, or clear existing cookies. On mobile Chrome, go to Settings → Site Settings → Cookies.

Go to Settings → Privacy & Security. Under Cookies and Site Data you can manage, clear, or block cookies. Firefox also offers Enhanced Tracking Protection, which can be set to Standard, Strict, or Custom.

On desktop: go to Safari → Preferences → Privacy and choose your cookie handling preference. On iPhone or iPad: go to Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security and toggle Block All Cookies as needed.

Go to Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data. You can block third-party cookies, clear cookies on browser close, or manage exceptions for individual sites.

Note: blocking all cookies may affect some features of this and other websites.

Your Rights

You have the right to withdraw cookie consent at any time by using the preference controls on this page or through your browser settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect any processing that took place while consent was active. If you have questions about how your data is used in connection with cookies, please contact us at [email protected].
