Last Updated: 10 February 2026  |  Effective Date: 10 February 2026

Please read these terms carefully before engaging Solwen services or using this website. By enquiring about, arranging, or receiving our services, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms.

1. Definitions

  • "Solwen" — the care service provider operating from Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan.
  • "Client" — the individual or family engaging Solwen services on behalf of an elderly person.
  • "Service Recipient" — the elderly individual receiving in-home care.
  • "Helper" / "Aide" — a care worker placed by Solwen to deliver the agreed service.
  • "Agreement" — the understanding reached between Solwen and the Client regarding the scope and terms of a service arrangement.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By requesting a service consultation, submitting the contact form on our website, or entering into a service arrangement with Solwen, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have the capacity to enter into this agreement, and accept these terms on behalf of yourself and the service recipient's household.

3. Service Description

Solwen provides in-home elderly care and assistance services in Taipei, Taiwan. Current services include Daytime Companionship, Errand & Outing Assistance, and Round-the-Clock Home Support. Services are described in detail on our website and confirmed in writing prior to commencement. Availability is subject to aide availability and geographic coverage within greater Taipei.

4. Client and Household Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about the service recipient's condition and household environment prior to service commencement
  • Ensure a safe working environment for the aide within the home
  • Inform Solwen promptly of any changes to the service recipient's needs or circumstances
  • Treat all Solwen staff with respect and dignity
  • Not request services from aides that fall outside the agreed scope or are not included in the arranged service tier

5. Prohibited Conduct

The following are not permitted in connection with Solwen services:

  • Directly contracting or arranging private engagements with Solwen aides outside of the Solwen arrangement
  • Requesting tasks that are unsafe, demeaning, or outside the described service scope
  • Misrepresenting the service recipient's condition in a way that affects the safety or suitability of the arrangement

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Solwen website — including text, images, and design — is the property of Solwen or its licensors. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or adapt this content without prior written consent. No intellectual property rights are transferred through the use of our services or website.

7. Payment Terms

Pricing for each service tier is stated in New Taiwan Dollars (NT$) and confirmed in writing prior to service commencement. Payment terms are agreed individually with each client. Solwen reserves the right to revise service pricing with advance notice. Any changes to an active arrangement will be discussed and agreed before taking effect.

8. Service-Specific Terms

Each service tier involves an agreed scope of tasks. Requests that fall materially outside that scope may require a service tier review. For round-the-clock arrangements, the care brief is agreed in writing before service begins and updated by mutual agreement if the service recipient's needs change significantly.

9. Disclaimers

Solwen's services are non-medical in nature. Aides are not licensed medical practitioners and do not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or advice. For medical concerns, families should contact an appropriate healthcare provider. Solwen cannot predict or guarantee specific outcomes from care arrangements.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Taiwan law, Solwen's liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount paid for the specific service period in which the issue occurred. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law in Taiwan.

11. Indemnification

The Client agrees to indemnify and hold Solwen harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from a breach of these terms by the Client or from inaccurate information provided by the Client that affects the arrangement.

12. Termination

Either party may end a service arrangement by providing reasonable written notice as agreed at the time of engagement. Solwen reserves the right to terminate a service arrangement immediately if the safety of an aide is compromised or if the Client is found to be in serious breach of these terms. Upon termination, fees for services already rendered remain payable.

13. Dispute Resolution

We encourage any concerns to be raised directly with us first, and we will respond in good faith within 10 business days. If a resolution cannot be reached informally, disputes will be referred to the courts of Taipei, Taiwan. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

14. General Provisions

These terms, together with any service agreement reached individually, constitute the entire agreement between the parties. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Solwen's failure to enforce any right at a given time does not constitute a waiver of that right.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued engagement with Solwen following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
