Our Story

Founded on a Simple Observation

Solwen began when our founder, watching her own grandmother navigate a quieter, less mobile version of daily life in a Taipei apartment, realised how much a trained, patient presence could change a senior's experience of an ordinary Tuesday.

The question was not whether care was needed — it often clearly was. The difficulty for most families was finding someone trustworthy, skilled, and genuinely kind enough to fill that role without disrupting the household or diminishing the elder's sense of dignity and independence.

Solwen was built to answer that question carefully. We started with a small, carefully selected group of aides trained not only in practical assistance but in the quieter art of companionable presence — being there without hovering, helping without taking over.

Our Mission

To make dependable, respectful in-home care accessible to elderly residents of Taipei — so that aging at home remains a real and comfortable option for families across the city.

Our Vision

A Taipei where no senior feels isolated or unsupported at home — and no family has to choose between their own commitments and their loved one's wellbeing.

Our Values

Patience. Honesty. Consistency. We hold these above speed, scale, or profit — because the people we serve have earned the right to expect nothing less.

The Team

Faces Behind the Care

A small, dedicated group united by a shared belief that elderly care done right looks like genuine human attention — not a checklist.

Our Standards

How We Maintain Quality

Every step of our process reflects a commitment to care that is safe, consistent, and genuinely respectful of the individual.

Background Verification

All aides undergo thorough background checks and personal reference verification before joining the Solwen team. Trust is established before the first visit.

Structured Training

Aides complete a structured onboarding programme covering elder mobility, respectful communication, household safety, and basic emergency response awareness.

Regular Supervision

Care coordinators conduct periodic check-ins with both the aide and the family to address any concerns early and ensure the arrangement continues to work well.

Confidentiality

All information shared about the senior and their household is treated with strict confidentiality. Aides sign clear privacy agreements before service begins.

Open Family Communication

We maintain a clear line of communication with the family throughout. Observations, changes in routine, and any concerns are shared promptly and honestly.

Ethical Service Principles

Solwen operates within Taiwan's elder care guidelines and upholds the individual's right to privacy, autonomy, and dignified treatment at all times.

In-Home Elderly Support in Taipei

Solwen operates from Xinyi District and provides elder care services to families across Taipei. Our team focuses on home-based support — the kind that keeps seniors in the environment they know and love, surrounded by familiar surroundings and their own routines.

Taiwan's population is aging steadily, and many families find themselves managing careers and household responsibilities alongside the desire to support elderly parents or grandparents. Solwen exists to help bridge that gap with trained, reliable helpers who show up, listen, and adapt.

Our services range from a few hours of daytime companionship each week to full continuous-care arrangements. Each engagement begins with a conversation — no forms, no obligations — just an honest discussion of what your family needs and what Solwen can provide.
